Mount Rinjani Trek Preparation Guide

Before embarking on your Mount Rinjani trekking adventure, thorough preparation is essential for a safe and enjoyable experience. Here’s a comprehensive guide on what our team provides during the trek and what you need to prepare on your own:

Equipment Provided by Coroa Rinjani

  • Tents (High-quality camping tents renewed every season)
  • Clean and warm sleeping bags (sanitized after each use)
  • Comfortable sponge mattress
  • Pillow
  • Camping chair and table
  • Toilets tent and toilet paper
  • Portable camping toilet (additional charge if requested)
  • Full set of cooking gear
  • Flysheet for added protection

What You Should Prepare and Bring

  • Torch or flashlight (availabe for rent in Rinjani Crown office)
  • Sturdy pair of hiking shoes (availabe for rent in Rinjani Crown office)
  • Shock absorbers
  • Toiletries
  • Sunblock or lotion
  • Muscle spray or balm
  • Insect repellent
  • Camera or handy cam (Manual or Digital)
  • Small towel
  • 2/3 pieces of T-shirts (one for each day)
  • 1 pair of shorts for a maximum of 2 days in dry season
  • Raincoat
  • Long trek pants or windproof trousers
  • Warm jacket, windbreaker, and sweater
  • Gloves, gaiters, winter hat, sun hat, and mountain buff
  • Trekking stick or hiking pole (availabe for rent in Rinjani Crown office)
  • Sandals (optional)
  • Swimming suit
  • Binoculars (optional)
  • Extra trail snacks (we provide fruits and a menu)
  • Fishing gear for programs longer than 3 days (optional)
  • Garbage plastic bag (availabe for sale in Rinjani Crown office)

Note: Ensure your daypack does not exceed the weight limit of 8KG.

Preparation:

  • Engage a mountain guide (compulsory for groups, maximum of 4 persons per guide)
  • Wear comfortable trekking or running shoes with a good grip.
  • Trim toe nails to prevent bruising and blistering.
  • Trekking poles available for rent (request in advance).
  • Confirm good health, as authorities conduct health checks during climb registration.
  • Send a copy of your passport to our staff for ticket purchase.
  • Bring extra cash as there are no ATMs near the village.

During Trekking:

  • Wear comfortable trekking or running shoes with a good grip.
  • Apply sunblock before trekking begins.
  • Wear shorts and long sleeves during the day.
  • Wear long pants, a jacket, gloves, and use a flashlight when climbing to Rinjani’s summit.
  • Carry 1.5 liters of water initially; more water is provided by the guide and porter.
  • All food and drinks provided are fresh and delicious, prepared by our team for breakfast, almoço, and dinner.
  • Avoid using shampoo at the lake and hot spring.
  • Pack out your trash or assist our team in picking up litter along the way to contribute to Rinjani’s preservation.
  • Choose comfortable, free-moving clothing (Denim jeans not recommended).
