Super trek !

Mount Rinjani Trails Overview

Mount Rinjani has 6 entrances which have been inaugurated by the government, but of these six routes, only 3 of them have access to the main peak, namely the Senaru, Sembalun and Torean routes. The following are the 6 climbing routes for Mount Rinjani which will be explained by Rinjani Crown

1. Sembalun Trail

The Sembalun route is the closest route to the main peak with a 2 day climb to get to the top. The entrance is at an altitude of 1156 meters above sea level. On the first day, trekkers will walk for around 7 Pa 8 hours to get to the campsite, and will head to the peak on the second day. Trekkers can also increase the duration of the climb to descend to the lake immediately via this route, this route will connect to Torean and Senaru

2. Senaru Trail

This pathway is frequently chosen by international tourists and offers minimal bonuses throughout the ascent. The climb continues from Post 1 to Plawangan.

In contrast to the Sembalun route, traversing the Senaru route introduces you to a distinctive tropical forest ambiance, characteristic of mountainous landscapes.

For those trekking this route and reaching the basecamp a day before the ascent, consider exploring two refreshing waterfalls nearby: Sendang Gila Waterfall and Tiu Kelep.

3. Torean Trail

The Torean climbing route stands as the latest pathway to Mount Rinjani, located in the northern part of Lombok Island and falling within the administrative region of North Lombok Regency. Pilgrims, both Hindus and Muslims, commonly choose this route to reach Lake Segara Anak.

Marked by its gentle incline, the Torean route guides trekkers from an initial elevation of 750 meters above sea level (the starting trekking point) to the shores of Lake Segara Anak at an altitude of 2000 meters. Since its inauguration, this trail has gained popularity, emerging as the preferred choice, particularly for the descent from the lake. The appeal lies not only in the downward and sloping terrain but also in the captivating scenery encountered throughout the journey from the lake to the Torean climbing gate point.

En route, you’ll encounter breathtaking vistas of valleys, rivers, waterfalls, and dense forests, weaving together a mesmerizing tapestry from Lake Segara Anak to the entrance of Torean Village. The natural panoramas on display are certain to captivate, treating all who traverse this route to the unspoiled beauty of Mount Rinjani National Park.

4. Aik Berik Trail

The Via Aik Berik hiking trail has recently gained recognition as a climbing route. It is conveniently located near the Benang Stokel Waterfall and Benang Kelambu.

To cover the considerable distance, it is advisable to opt for a motorcycle taxi from the basecamp to the climbing entrance.

The Aik Berik Trail is renowned for its abundant water sources, ensuring you won’t face concerns about running out of clean water along the way.

Although this route doesn’t lead to the summit, the Pelawangan view ensures that you won’t regret taking this path.

5. Timbanuh Trail

The hiking trail is a recently established route by the Mount Rinjani National Park, situated in Timbanuh Village, Pringgasela District, East Lombok.

As you traverse Post 1, you’ll encounter local plantations, and on your journey towards Pelawangan Timbanuh, you’ll witness a breathtaking expanse of Edelweiss Flowers.

It’s important to note that this trail is not recommended for reaching the lake due to its steep gradient, which is approximately 80 degrees.

6. Tetebatu Trail

During this ascent, the journey commences from an elevation of 600 meters above sea level in Tetebatu Village. The overnight stay is scheduled at Pelawangan Tetebatu, situated at an altitude of 2800 meters above sea level. On the second day of the climb, you will ascend to the summit of Sangkureang, starting the climb at 03:00 in the morning to witness the breathtaking sunrise. Along the way, you will traverse dense forests teeming with flora and fauna, all while reveling in splendid views of the impressive Samalas Caldera and Danu Segara Anak. These vistas are even more captivating than those from the South Peak, known asPuncak Sangkureang.
