Gili Air merupakan salah satu dari tiga pulau gili terkenal di Lombok, yaitu Gili Trawangan, dan Gili Meno. Ketiga pulau ini terkenal dengan keindahan pantainya, maka tak heran apabila Gili Air menjadi salah satu destinasi wisata favorit di Lombok.
Dari ketiga pulau gili yang telah disebutkan diatas, Gili Air merupakan pulau yang letaknya paling dekat dengan pulau Lombok.Gili Air, Gili Meno, dan Gili Trawangan berada di kawasan barat pantai Lombok, serta mampu menampilkan gambaran keindahan pantai-pantai yang berada di Lombok. Lokasi Gili Air tepatnya teletak di Desa Gili indah, Kecamatan Pemenang, Kabupaten Lombok Utara.
Berkunjung ke Gili Air wisatawan dapat menjelajahi beberapa titik untuk menikmati keanekaragaman hayati laut Indonesia. Diantaranya pengunjung dapat melihat spot kuda laut, kura-kura, beragam ikan dengan berbagai warna, serta keanekaragaman penghuni laut lainnya. Masyarakat setempat mnyebut GIli Air dengan nama “Tengaq Aiq” yang berarti ditengha-tengah laut. Mayoritas penduduk asli Gili Air berasal dari suku bugis dan suku sasak, dan mereka bermata pencaharian utama sebagai nelayan, pedagang, dan pemandu wisata. Mayoritas pengunjung GIli Air merupaka wisatawan mancanegara, seperti dari negara Inggris, Prancis, Australia, Belanda, Italia, maupun negara-negara lainnya. Gili Air biasanya ramai dikunjungi wisatawan pada bulan Juli hingga Agustus.
Fasilitas wisata di Gili Air sangat lengkap,terdapat fasilitas seperti hotel, restoran, maupun bar, sehingga dapat membuat wisatawan nyaman berkunjung ke pulau ini. untuk menuju Gili Air, penunjung dapat menempuh perjalanan menggunakan kapal motor (boat) dari pelabuhan Bangsal dengan jarah tempuh sekitar 25 menit.

One of the best things to do in Gili Air is to rent a bike and explore the island. Follow the beachside and find all the nice beach clubs or bike through the center of the island and see a bit of the local life, coconut farms, and the best restaurants.
Bike rentals are located near the boat pier or at your hotel.
- Swing at The Beach
Have a swing at one of the many swings around Gili Air. They are owned by the beach clubs but don’t worry, It is free to swing.

- Snorkel With The Turtle
Gili Air is well-known for its super clear turquoise water to snorkel and dive in. The entire northern part of the island is home to sea turtles. So the chance to spot a turtle is high. Do not swim during low tide, the corals will be too close. You could easily damage the corals or yourself.

The best sunsets are on the west side of Gili Air. During a cloudless day, you could even have Mount Agung from Bali in the backdrop.
